Milne Homes Custom Home Builders Winnipeg Manitoba

To be the recognized leader in construction of quality, affordable new homes for customers that prefer personal service, integrity and fairness in all their business dealings.

Entering their third decade of business, Milne Homes is a family-run business, owned and operated by Doug and Janet Milne and supported by their two children, Brian and Tanis. The business is firmly entrenched with family values that reach far back into the Milne family history – a strong and honourable clan from Scotland, represented by the crest in the Milne Homes logo.

Doug has always had a passion for home building, and has spent a great amount of time building a strong, committed team of highly skilled craftsmen to ensure consistent, quality construction in every single Milne home. Many of these craftsmen have been with Milne Homes from the beginning and have become extensions of the family.

Doug works hand-in-hand with each individual client to ensure that the homebuilding experience is simple and worry-free. As he personally oversees every project, he is able to reflect your ideas and wishes into the finished product and is able to share the experience of watching your dreams come to reality. His keen eye for detail allows him to divert problems early in the process, before they become major issues. He prides himself for not settling for second best and the result shows in the finished product.

Milne Homes has been awarded numerous Gold and Silver medals by the Manitoba Home Builders’ Association (MHBA), during their annual Parade of Homes. With energy costs always on the rise, Doug is also dedicated to researching alternative building techniques and supplies.

Milne Homes is an active Power Smart and R-2000 builder, constructing energy efficient homes throughout the city of Winnipeg and its surrounding communities for over a decade. For several years, Doug acted in a lead capacity within the R-2000 Program and is still very focused on energy efficiency methods and ‘green’ practices throughout the construction process.
